The michael mills LegalTech Scholarship

SKILLS is proud to be among the founders of 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗶𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗲𝗹 𝗠𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗟𝗲𝗴𝗮𝗹𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗮𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 at 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵, which was established to honor Michael’s legacy and champion the next generation of legaltech professionals. 

Michael was an innovator, leader, and pioneer in the LegalTech field, who mentored many of us. He was kind, smart, funny, and generous with encouragement and advice. He was also a generous philanthropist, serving as co-founder of Central Park Conservancy and a founding director of Pro Bono Net. Learn more about Michael.

The scholarship will ensure that Michael’s memory and passion for LegalTech live on in students pursuing careers in this field, who are passionate about transforming the legal landscape through technology and innovation..

The Michael Mills Memorial LegalTech Scholarship supports students enrolled in Cornell Tech's Master of Laws (LLM) in Law, Technology, and Entrepreneurship program. The LLM program is a one-year Master's program for lawyers ready to master cutting-edge technological law, policy, and practice developments in an environment built for entrepreneurship and innovation.

Candidates will be considered based on their strong academic performance, prior engagement in LegalTech, and demonstrated intent to continue working in the field. The first scholars will be awarded in the Fall of 2025.

We aim to raise $500,000 to endow the fund so that the Michael Mills Memorial LegalTech Scholarship may benefit future generations of LLM students at Cornell Tech in perpetuity.
