About the Survey
Knowledge and innovation leaders of the largest law firms gather annually at the Strategic Knowledge & Innovation Legal Leaders Summit, or SKILLS, to compare notes on current developments in KM, innovation, AI, data analytics, and the business of law.
Recently, we invited SKILLS participants to rate how likely they were to recommend the legal AI vendors to a friend or colleague.
We asked them to consider the following factors about their experience with each vendor:
- 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁 𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆: Performance and effectiveness
- 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘆: Cost vs. Value, fair price, how widely used
- 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆: Confidence in the safety and protection of personal data
- 𝗨𝘀𝗲𝗿 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲: Ease of use, intuitive interface
- 𝗖𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁: Responsive and effective customer service
- 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Seamless integration with other systems
- 𝗥𝗼𝗮𝗱𝗺𝗮𝗽: How much do you believe in the company’s vision
- 𝗝𝗼𝘆: Your experience interacting with the people at the company
- 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: Company's values, ethics, and approach
In early 2025, over 100 SKILLS members filled out a detailed survey, sharing which products their firms explore, pilot, and use in various legal AI use cases.
We publish the results of the most commonly used legal AI solutions weekly on LinkedIn: https://lnkd.in/eq6UzyG5

SKILLS attendees complete an annual survey upon registration, which asks questions about what they worked on the previous year, their current focus, and what they want to work on in the future. Since SKILLS is free, participation is the only requirement for inclusion.
This years survey results, from over 500+ law firms, provided keen insight into Large Language Models (LLMs) in legal- the selection process, deployment, and perceived impact.
